Bretton Woods, NH – It took thirty-seven holes of golf for Joe Leavitt to win his two matches on Friday to clinch a berth in the finals at the 112th New Hampshire Amateur Championship. Leavitt will look to win his 2nd straight title and third in four years. In the morning Leavitt faced TCU standout and 3-time NHGA Champion Chelso Barrett (Bretwood GC) and won the match in twenty holes. Barrett had a putt to win the match twice and Leavitt survived to win the match with a birdie on their twentieth hole.

In the afternoon the twenty-one year old faced his best friend Nick Pandelena (Atkinson Resort & CC) after Pandelena beat Dylan Cowette in the morning. Leavitt won the  8th hole to go one up and never trailed in the match again. This was the 2nd straight year that the two met on Friday at the amateur, with Leavitt winning both matchups.

Co-Medalist Connor Greenleaf (Windham CC) also needed extra holes in his morning match to dispose of his opponent, Phin Choukas, before having a relatively easy time in his afternoon match beating Jamie Ferullo 4&3. Greenleaf finished runner-up to Leavitt in the 2014 Stroke Play Championship, where the two played the final thirty-six holes in the final pairing where Greenleaf finished two shots back.
