Bordeau Leads the Way After Round 1 of the NH Women's Mid-Amateur

Moultonborough, NH – It comes as no surprise to see the 2022 New Hampshire Women’s Player of the Year, Kat Bordeau at the top of this year’s New Hampshire Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship after the first round.  Bordeau shot a two-over par, 73 at Ridgewood Country Club to lead by five strokes after the opening.  With 18 holes ahead of them, Pareena Deva and June Ferland will look to close the gap on Bordeau in hopes of capturing this year’s title.

Kat Bordeau, one of the top female golfers in the state, started her round with a bogey and made a double bogey on the par-4, 4th hole.  She quickly followed her double bogey with a birdie getting back to two-over par and with another bogey on the 9th hole, she turned at just three-over par.  Similar to Bordeau, Pareena Deva made the turn at three-over par with two bogeys, one double bogey and a birdie.

Heading to the back nine, Bordeau made her last bogey of the day on the 10th hole and from there, went on to birdie the 12th and 17th holes at Ridgewood to shoot a one-under par back nine and a 73 (+2) for the day.  For Deva, she found more trouble on the back nine with two more bogeys and another double bogey, finishing with a 78 (+7).  June Ferland also joins Deva in a tie for second place with a 78 (+7) after going five-over par on the front nine and just two-over par on the back nine.

Everyone is looking to chase down Bordeau in the final round at Ridgewood Country Club.
