First Nineteen Competitors of the Season Qualify at Passaconaway

Litchfield, NH – With the first qualifier for the State Amateur Championship under wraps, 19 players have earned their place in the Championship come July. Anyone who kept their score at 80 or lower were able to advance on to the Championship.

Among the qualifiers was Griffin Connor, from Manchester Country Club, who carded the low score of the day with an even par, 7. He had a strong round, shooting four birdies, with three of them being on the front nine.

Of the 19 qualifiers, some notable rounds came from Justin Maguire of Amherst Country Club who had the second lowest score of the day at 2 over par, 73. Tillman Evers and Joel Boulanger, who both shot a 74. 2009 Mid-Amateur Champion, Josh Chamberlain, Brendan Shirley and Matthew Walsh all finishing with a 76.

The 115th State Amateur Championship will be contested at Hanover Country Club, on the campus of Dartmouth College July 8th-13th. The next qualifier will be at Souhegan Woods Golf Club on Tuesday June 5th.
