For golfers familiar with NEGA events, they will notice a few changes coming to the NEGA in 2017. Among the changes golfers can expect to see in 2017 are the addition of sectional qualifiers for both the New England Amateur Championship and the New England Senior Amateur Championship. These changes reflect the growing interest in both Championships, which continue to draw the top amateur golfers from all six New England states.
As a result of changes made by the USGA for its U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, the age limits for the New England Junior Championship will be extended from 17 to 18. Any player who has not reached their 19th birthday by August 17, 2017, will be eligible to compete.
