Hanover, NH –   Capturing his second New Hampshire Golf Association title within a week, Craig Steckowych contributed to the Portsmouth Country Club team that took the title at the Club Team Championship held at Hanover Country Club.  Steckowych was accompanied by Peter Keilty, Eric Evans, and Chris Pollet, as each team member had a hand in the win.
The Portsmouth CC team finished their round at three under par for a two best ball of the team total of 137.  The 137 was three strokes better than the two teams that followed at even par, a team out of Nashua Country Club and Derryfield Country Club.  Steckowych, who is fresh off a Senior Match Play Championship win, played his steady, consistent golf with a 73 on his own ball.  Eric Evans also stood out on the team with five birdies contributed towards their score.
With a rocky start on the front nine, having to adjust for the higher winds, the team was able to make the turn at even par.  From there, they remained steady, carding a birdie on the 12th and adding two more birdies on the closing two holes of the golf course.  As one of the early groups to tee off, three under par held at the top throughout the day to give them the win.
On the Net side, the Derryfield Country Club team of Lance Pelley, Sean Lacey, Brendan O’Sullivan and Ryan Sylvester displayed strong golf with a net score of 10 under par.  The race for the Net title was closer as one team finished just one stroke back of the Derryfield Country Club winning team.  Brendan O’Sullivan, in particular, had a strong round with a 75 on his own ball, including six birdies he contributed to the team total.
The Club Team Championship is in it’s fourth year on the NHGA schedule.  Teams of four male golfers all from the same New Hampshire golf club compete in a two best ball of the four person team with prizes awarded in both a Gross and Net division.
