Derryfield Team Dominates Home Turf in the Club Team Championship

Manchester, NH- In a stacked field of 26 teams, the Derryfield team of Kyle Badger, Matt Burroughs, Lance Pelley, and Austin Fox take the 2020 Club Team Championship title. Home course knowledge proved to be beneficial today as the team shot a total of thirteen under par, 127.

The Derryfield team had a strong front nine after carding 6 impressive birdies. After the turn, Matt Burroughs turned up the heat on the rest of the field by firing an Eagle on the par four, Hole 13. All team members contributed to the total winning score today, with Austin Fox leading the team shooting a two under par, 68 on his own ball, and Burroughs not far behind shooting a one under par, 69, on his. The group beat out the Portsmouth 2019 Club Team Champions by 2 strokes.

On the Net side, home course knowledge prevails again as the Derryfield team of Kyle Sullivan, Peter Tagalakis, Dustin Moreault, and Jeffrey Duval take first place with a net eighteen under par, 122. The group carded two key net Eagles on the front nine during their round, propelling them into the lead going to the back nine. The momentum was not lost on the back, the team carded 10 net birdies to finish out their round.

The Club Team Championship is in it’s fifth year on the NHGA schedule.  Teams of four male golfers all from the same New Hampshire golf club compete in a two best ball of the four person team with prizes awarded in both a Gross and Net division.
