Lanman Joins NHGA Team as Director of Junior Golf & Tournament Operations

January 27th, 2022

Concord, NH – As we approach the start of a new season, the New Hampshire Golf Association (NHGA) is excited to announce that Ben Lanman will take on the role of Director of Junior Golf & Tournament Operations for the NHGA.  He fills the role left vacant in October when Kinsey Hoffmann moved into the Tournament Director position for the NHGA.  Lanman will be tasked with the administration and continued growth of the NHGA Junior Tour and manage other tournament operations for the organization.
Lanman comes to the NHGA with knowledge and a passion for the game along with experience working with junior golfers local to the Concord area.  He previously worked as the Assistant Golf Professional at Beaver Meadow Golf Course in Concord, NH where he managed day-to-day operations, provided support for golf outings and club tournaments, as well as worked with the junior golfers at Beaver Meadow through the PGA Junior League and Beaver Meadow Junior Golf Camp.
“In my former role at Beaver Meadow, I had many opportunities to work directly with the NHGA.  The staff was always great to work with and was always willing to support us in any way they could,” stated Lanman.  “When I saw there was an opportunity to work for an organization that supported golf in New Hampshire as well as they do, I knew I wanted to be a part of that.”
“The NHGA plays a vital role in growing the game of golf in New Hampshire,” continued Lanman.  “As the Director of Junior Golf, I knew I would have the opportunity to play a very important part in the growth of golf by connecting directly with the future of our game.  I really enjoyed working with our junior membership at Beaver Meadow, and now having the opportunity to work with junior golfers from all over the state is very exciting.”
The NHGA Junior Golf Tour has grown a significant amount over the last five years and has seen improvements to help foster a fun and competitive playing environment for Granite State junior golfers.  In the last five years, the Junior Tour membership has increased by about 50% with around 15 events held throughout the summer dedicated to juniors.  Lanman will work to continue the growth of the program and encourage juniors from all over the state to participate as they can gain experience on the course, make new friends, and play a variety of courses around New Hampshire.
Lanman looks forward to stepping into this position with the NHGA.  He commented, “I am really looking forward to getting to know our junior membership and being able to develop strong relationships with them and their families.  I am excited to grow our junior membership, and their love for the game, by providing them with a fun and welcoming experience.  I am grateful to have the opportunity to develop our junior membership into lifelong golfers.”
Now with Kinsey Hoffmann in the Tournament Director position for the NHGA, Executive Director Matt Schmidt was looking for someone with the same amount of enthusiasm and passion for junior golf to fill her position.  Schmidt stated, “From the first moment that Ben expressed an interest in the position, we knew that he was a natural fit as our Junior Director. Armed with ample experience from working in the golf industry, Ben brings knowledge, passion, and excitement to his new role.”
“Our junior players and parents are going to see an individual that is dedicated to enhancing the reputation of the NHGA junior program and to continue molding it into one of the preeminent junior golf programs in New England,” continued Schmidt.
The NHGA is thrilled to welcome Lanman to the staff and knows he will be a great fit for the organization and the role he will play in growing the game.  Anyone with questions about the NHGA Junior Tour can reach out to Ben at or call the office at 603-219-0371.
