Concord, NH –  Looking ahead to warmer weather, the New Hampshire Golf Association has officially released their 2017 tournament schedule and are accepting tournament registrations.  With many great events and host clubs on the list, they are excited to get the season started.
The most sought-after event for amateur golfers in New Hampshire, the New Hampshire Amateur Championship, will be contested July 10-15 at Bretwood Golf Course in Keene.  Qualifying sites for the event include Laconia Country Club, Lake Winnipesaukee Golf Club, Atkinson Country Club, Keene Country Club and Mount Washington Resort Golf Club.  This year the three-day, 54-hole New Hampshire Open will be moving to Manchester Country Club.  Manchester is long overdue to host the NH Open as the event has not been back since 1969.
The 34th New Hampshire Mid-Amateur Championship will be hosted by Bald Peak Colony Club while North Conway Country Club is the host site of the New Hampshire Senior Amateur Championship.  Rochester Country Club is set to hold the Stroke Play Championship which is a 72-hole event across three days.  Each host club is sure to be a challenge for the top amateur golfers in New Hampshire.
The three events that were added in 2016 will be returning, including the Club Team Championship, Senior Match Play Championship and the Senior/ Mid-Am Four Ball.  This year the Club Team will be played at Derryfield Country Club May 13th and the Senior Match Play, played in August last year, will take place May 16-18 at Breakfast Hill Golf Club.  The Senior/ Mid-Am Four Ball will be making its way up to Mount Washington Resort Golf Club October 15th and 16th
New to the schedule is the Greater New England Junior Classic, October 21st and 22nd.  This is a brand new event designed to attract the top players in New Hampshire and across New England. The event will be held at Bretwood GC who is the host of the 2017 New Hampshire Amateur and has hosted numerous USGA qualifiers. The event will be open to boys and girls ages 14-19 and the competition will be 36-holes over two days.  The tournament will be a Performance Based Entry tournament for the AJGA and will be ranked on the Junior Golf Scoreboard.
NHGA Tournament Director, Greg Howell, is excited about what the season will bring saying, “The 2017 schedule should provide Granite State golfers of all abilities a chance to play in a NHGA event. With the addition of a regional junior event and additional opportunities for our low-handicap players we are proud to offer more playing opportunities than ever.”
Golfers can continue to look forward to the Tournament Series events that are open to anyone with an active New Hampshire GHIN handicap; there are no handicap restrictions and golfers can choose who they would like to be paired with.  The NHGA will also be adding a Scratch Series for those competitive golfers with a handicap of 12.0 and lower (more information on the Scratch Series to be released at a later date).
As the NHGA tournament schedule continues to grow, stay up-to-date on the latest tournaments being added:
