Five Competitors Advancing to Hanover From Souhegan Woods Qualifer

Amherst, NH- As the 115th New Hampshire State Amateur Championship gets a week closer, five more competitors will advance to play Hanover Country Club in July. Anyone who kept their score at 81 and below were able to qualify.

Among the five competitors who qualified, the low score of the day came from Jack Brown of Nashua Country Club, who shot an even par round of 72. Brown had a strong round shooting three total birdies, two on the front nine and one on the back. A notable hole for brown was the par five, 18th hole, where Brown fired out an eagle to secure his place at the top of the list.

Of the remaining four qualifying competitors, Troy Joncas of Portsmouth Country Club fired out three birdies during his round to shoot one over par, 72. Dylan Lortie of Amherst Country Club and Bretwood Golf Course’s Jack Nadeau both shot a four over par, 76 to earn their qualifying spots. Shawn Lortie of Amherst also had a birdie during his round of nine over par, 81, which helped punch his ticket to the Championship.

The 115th State Amateur Championship will be contested at Hanover Country Club, on the campus of Dartmouth College July 8th-13th. The next qualifier will be at Golf Club of New England on Thursday, June 7th.
