Twenty-One Make the Cut at Montcalm Qualifier

June 19th, 2018

Enfield, NH –  Twenty-one golfers will be advancing on to the Audi of Nashua New Hampshire Amateur Championship taking place at Hanover Country Club next month.  These golfers took on the picturesque, yet challenging Montcalm Golf Club today; Bill Viellux, Montcalm GC member, fired the low round with an even-par, 72, which was two shots better than the remainder of the field.
Vielleux flexed his local knowledge on the golf course today carding four birdies and an equal number of bogies on his way to 72.  With a solid front nine of one-over par, he started out the back nine with birdies on the 10th and 11th holes of the course and finished that nine at one-under par.
Among other golfers moving on is Phin Choukas (Hanover CC) who will be joining his brother Nate Choukas at Hanover CC in a few weeks.  Choukas was a part of the Hanover High School Golf Team that recently won the 2017 Division II NHIAA Golf State Championship.  He will be looking forward to competing on his home golf course in the 115th New Hampshire Amateur Championship.
The cut to qualify was 81 with a number of players playing a solid round but just missing the cut.  With only two qualifiers left on the schedule these twenty-one golfers will join all those who have qualified previously along with the exempt players on July 8th for the start of the premier amateur golf tournament in the Granite State.
