2024 Season Ushers in Changes & Newly Created Tournaments

Concord, NH – The winter months can seem long, but the New Hampshire golf community has the 2024 golf season to look forward to.  With the release of the 2024 tournament schedule, the New Hampshire Golf Association is thrilled to highlight some changes and additions to this year’s lineup of events.  Three new tournaments have been added while other changes are made to make NHGA tournaments more consistent across the board.

New Tournaments
Four Ball Match Play: New for 2024, we’re bringing another opportunity to compete in a match play format event, this time, it’s a team match play championship.  Taking place at Canterbury Woods Country Club from May to September, teams of two men will compete in a stroke play qualifying round to determine flights & seeds to continue on to the match play portion of the tournament.

Details – Canterbury Woods CC | May 16, May 28, July 31, August 21, September 23

Mixed Four Ball: We have men’s four ball tournaments & women’s four ball tournaments, but now we are combining those to form the Mixed Four Ball.  Teams of one male and one female will compete in an 18-hole best ball format event this season.

Details – Windham CC  |  April 27

Junior/Senior Championship: With teams comprised of one golfer 54 years old or younger & one golfer 55 years or older, we’re excited to introduce this    36-hole event, the Junior/Senior Championship!  Round 1 will be a four ball format and Round 2 will be alternate shot.

Details – Bretwood GC (North & South)  |  September 3, 8am & 1:30pm shotgun starts

Changes
We will continue to provide the same women’s events you know and love but are changing some names to make all NHGA events more consistent across the board.  Read below for a list of the changes:

  • Women’s Weekly events are now known as the Women’s Stroke Play Series
  • Spring Fling is now known as the Women’s Spring Four Ball
  • Fall Classic is now known as the Women’s Fall Four Ball
  • Senior/Legend/Classic is now known as the Women’s Senior Championship (with the same three divisions)

The Women’s Player’s Fee has been eliminated for the 2024 season.  Any woman with an active New Hampshire GHIN Handicap is eligible to sign up for events without having to purchase a Player’s Fee in advance.

This season the Junior Championship and the Junior Stroke Play Championship will run congruently. Players will have the ability to sign up for both the Junior Championship and the Junior Stroke Play, or just the Junior Stroke Play by itself. This process will be outlined in the registration process.

Junior Championship:  July 1-3  |  Round 1 at Cochecho, Round 2 & 3 at Mt. Washington
Junior Stroke Play: July 2-3  |  Round 1 & 2 at Mt. Washington
*These are two separate tournaments, meaning there are two chances to win if choosing to compete in both.

While the 2024 schedule has been released, the NHGA Tournament staff is diligently working to finalize details for a few more events which will be added shortly.  Tournament registration is slated to open at 8AM on February 1st.  An active New Hampshire GHIN Handicap Index is required to sign up, please ensure your handicap is active prior to registration opening.
