Lauren Thibodeau to Represent The First Tee of New Hampshire

May 21st, 2015

Lauren Thibodeau of Hampstead was one of 32 First Tee participants selected to compete in The First Tee’s Par-3 Championship.  The 36-hole tournament will be held June 24-28 at The Kanawha Club in Richmond, Virginia.  Applications for the event were submitted by First Tee Chapters from across the country and with her selection, Lauren becomes the first The First Tee of New Hampshire participant to be selected for a national First Tee event.
Thibodeau will compete against 15 other players in the individual Girls Division and also take part in the team-based East vs. West Territory Cup.  While she will be testing her game against The Kanawha Club layout, Lauren will also have the chance to meet and interact with other First Tee participants. “I’m looking forward to meeting new people from around the country that have gone through The First Tee program,” said the Pinkerton Academy freshman.
Lauren has been a First Tee participant since 2007 and the program has had a profound effect on her.  “The First Tee has changed my life and I would never have gotten to be where I am today without the confidence, perseverance, and sportsmanship that I have learned through The First Tee program”, she said. In addition to the tournament itself, a First Tee Life Skills component will be incorporated into each day of the competition.
The First Tee of New Hampshire will be updating Lauren’s progress in the event via our website ( and social media (
